To prepare companies and the workforce for the digital economy, SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), with support from the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), have introduced the Smart Estates Talent Development Programme (SETDP).

The SETDP is the first-of-its-kind talent and skills initiative, and aims to build a strong talent pipeline within the Smart Estates ecosystem. As a talent and skills initiative, the SETDP identifies the new and emerging skills and job roles to drive Smart Estates, and captures the information in the Smart Estates Talent Playbook. The SETDP will also include the development of an integrated Smart Estates training curriculum to train the workforce in these skills sets. More information on the training programme will be made available at a later date.

In collaboration with our knowledge partner Eden Strategy Institute, the Smart Estates Talent Playbook presents a global scan on emerging areas in Smart Estates development. It incorporates future scenarios and showcases the impact on business models, capabilities, and future skills and jobs. The nine job roles are Estate Proposition Designer, Digital Designer, Smart Estate Solution Architect, Smart Project Manager, Smart Estate Manager, Digital Asset Strategist, Digital Leasing Manager, Smart Sustainability Manager and Digital Community Manager.

Companies and professionals currently in the Built Environment sector, or individuals wishing to enter the sector, can take guidance from the Talent Playbook for hiring and training purposes.
